What a year 2017 has been - from the world premiere of Patch written for HCYT by Kay Shacklock which challenged the Offstagers, to the students in First Performance classes who faced the challenge of performing in front of live audiences for the first time.

With both Romeo and Juliet and the staff production of Dr Seuss Stories well and truly wrapped - time to say thanks to all of you who supported these productions. Dr Seuss was a successful fundraiser for HCYT's activities - emphasis on Fun. And also the occasion of Libby's first performance after all these years.

The 22 strong Offstage cast of Romeo and Juliet did themselves and their director Kelly, proud - in spite of the weather which cancelled one show and interrupted others. But the outdoor setting is so spectacular - it is worth the risk. Thanks to Marian Rocco for her heroic efforts in costuming yet another Shakespeare - this time in Renaissance dress. The photos are n the archive to remind us how splendid the actors looked. And thanks once again to Fiona and Kelly who make this all possible for these talented young actors.

This show was amazing! We absolutely loved it and we're so impressed on every level! The actors completely understood it - and as a result, the performances were so convincing. Direction, costumes, lighting, music - all so good and such a special night out to sit under the stars and be immersed in some Shakespeare. Congratulations - and thank you for such a treat.

Dr Seuss Stories - A Staff Production

In two weeks the HCYT staff are staging five favourite Dr Seuss stories including Horton Hatches an Egg, How the Grinch stole Christmas and Yertle the Turtle.

If you look carefully you will see Libby take the stage as one of Yertle the Turtle’s minions and also a Sneetch. So to all those who ‘liked’ the idea on Facebook last year – the time has come… Performs during the day 19 and 20 March at 11am and 1pm with tickets $7 a head. Phone for bookings!

What a year 2015 has been - from the world premiere of Stout Heart written for HCYT by Kay Shacklock which challenged the Offstagers, to the challenge for Fiona directing a double cast in Peter Pan. Along the way students in First Performance classes faced the challenge of performing in front of live audiences for the first time and Kate Shaw directed her first full length production, Heidi. Well done to all on stage and off.

Peter Pan

Only a few weeks to go until the combined Offstage and Children's Theatre production of Peter Pan gets under way. There are 10 performances over the four day run, so plenty of room for family and friends.

The Offstage actors perform all 10 shows - while the younger Children's Theatre actors are divided into Cast A and B, doing 5 performances each.

Here is the list of performances

Cast A:
Thursday 1^st October at 1pm & 4pm,
Friday 2^nd October at 10am,
Saturday 3^rd October at 1pm & 4pm

Cast B:
Friday 2^nd October 1pm & 4pm,
Saturday 3^rd October at 10am,
Sunday 4^th October at 11am & 2pm

Holiday Programme

Kelly and Kate are preparing for two weeks of 'Pet Mania' in this term's Holiday Programme.

Monday to Friday from 9am-3pm (although an 8am drop off can be arranged at no extra cost) children in the program take part in a range activities - half the day with arts and crafts and the other half with drama games and skills.

While children can come for one or more days in the first week, those attending the second week need to be there each day to prepare for a small performance for parents at the end of the week.

The cost is $25 per child per day. We provide a drink and biscuits at morning tea, and children bring their own lunch.

Coming up at the end of August is MRS WISHY WASHY & OTHER STORIES. These are stories are being performed by some of our students who haven’t performed with us before.

If you have little people in your life you can bring along, we would love to see you. Tickets are a mere $6 a head. The show performs at The Harlequin Theatre and is about an hour long
